20. GENERAL INFORMATION (SUMMARY)
1. INTRODUCTION
PHOTONICS
PRAGUE 2002 is the fourth conference in series organised by the Czech and
Slovak Society for Photonics (CSSF). It follows
the national meeting in Olomouc (1992) and international conferences at Prague
(1995, 1999).
This
Conference will bring together researchers, scientists and engineers involved in
the development of photonics, including its educational aspects. There will be
opportunity for both oral and poster presentations as well as for intensive
discussions during breaks and a fruitful exchange of ideas.
We are pleased to welcome
everybody interested in research on photonics, to the Czech capital, Prague. You
will enjoy not only the conference atmosphere but also the beauties of wonderful
so-called „hundred spires town“.

Tentative
preliminary scientific program
The
following types of contributions to the Conference are possible:
1.
Oral presentation
2.
Poster presentation
3. Exhibition
English will be the official
Conference Language. No translation will be provided.
Oral
presentation
Each author is generally allowed 12 minutes plus
3 minutes discussion. The following media equipment will be provided free of
charge: overhead projector, 35 mm slide projector, data projector and laser
pointer. Video and other equipment may be provided upon request no later than
one week prior to the Conference. Please, do not use for your presentation the
Internet connection to your Laboratory website.
Poster
presentation
Due to the large number of contributions,
posters are regarded to be equivalent to oral presentation in every respect -
including publication - and will be displayed for a half day.
(Posterboards will measure 100 cm high and 100
cm wide.)
The specifications of poster sessions will be
detailed on the Conference homepage end of April, 2002.
Authors
wishing to contribute an original, unpublished paper on the topics listed above
should submit an Abstract to the
Conference secretariat: loc-ph2002@photon-czsk.org
and
to the Conference chairman: tomanek@dphys.fee.vutbr.cz
by
e-mail as an attachment (Word
preferred) by December 15, 2001
The
100-word
abstracts written in English must contain:
-
the title of the paper,
-
full authors' names and affiliation,
-
e-mail address of principal author,
-
number of selected topic (from 1 to 11),
-
preferred type of presentation (oral/poster).
The
abstracts will be reviewed by the members of the International Programme
Committee.
Authors
will be informed about the acceptance of their papers not later then February 1,
2002.
All
accepted abstracts will be displayed on the Conference website in Advance
Programme and then appear in the Abstract booklet.
The
camera-ready papers should be submitted before May 1, 2001. The instruction will
be displayed in the due time.
Late
news reporting very recent results may be accepted. Their inclusion in the
Abstracts booklet depends on the submission time.

Registration is required for all participants and accompanying persons. The enclosed Preliminary Registration Form should be sent to Conference Secretariat as soon as possible (or you can also apply by e-mail to LOC or internet).

Conference Proceedings and Abstracts
Conference
Proceedings
Authors can publish their papers in a special
issue of Proceedings of SPIE.
For the manuscript (5 - 6 pages) specifications,
please, see
http://www.spie.org/web/proceedings/authorguide.html
and all items inside. (One exception - only 6
pages, please).
Two hard copies of Camera-ready manuscript and
one diskette with each paper should be mailed to the Conference Secretariat by Thusday,
April 30, 2002.
Late manuscripts run to risk of not being
published. All manuscripts will be reviewed before and during the Conference and
a deadline to submit a revised paper is strictly May 15, 2002.
Revised papers received after this date will not be included in the Proceedings.
Important
Only
papers of the registered authors, who pays the registration fee by May
1, 2002, will be included among
the papers to be reviewed and published in the Proceedings of SPIE. If the
received paper is not presented it will not be included in the Proceedings.
n all
manuscripts must be sent to the Conference Secretariat by Thusday, April 30,
2002.
The Proceedings will be published in about 3
months after the Conference. The author which pays a regular fee (not student
fee) will receive one copy of the Proceedings volume in which his paper appears.
In the case of 2 or more authors,
only the presenting author receives this copy. In the case of 2 or more papers
of the same presenting author, only
one copy of Proceedings will be him given.
It
is possible to order additional Conference Proceedings at the Conference
Registration Desk or by the Publishing House of
SPIE.
